A research-led teaching platform bringing supply chain and logistics theory to life through interactive models, simulations and decision experiments.
The Supply Chain Lab is a suite of more than 120 browser-based, interactive tools spanning the modern supply chain and logistics curriculum, from vehicle routing, facility location and inventory policy to forecasting, Monte Carlo simulation, the bullwhip effect, reinforcement learning and AI-driven risk management. Every tool runs live in the browser with no installation, so students can move a slider, disrupt a network or bid in an auction and immediately see the consequences. Alongside the teaching games are published research showcases on vaccine allocation, bushfire evacuation, aerial suppression and emergency-service accessibility, turning real case studies into things you can explore. The lab is built for teaching, for research demonstration, and for anyone curious about how supply chains behave under pressure.
Dr. Shahrooz Shahparvari is an academic in supply chain and logistics at RMIT University, Melbourne. His teaching and research cover transport optimisation, humanitarian logistics, disaster response, operations research and decision support. Much of this work uses Australian cases, including bushfire evacuation, aerial suppression and vaccine distribution.
He developed this lab so students can test the models they study and see how decisions change results. It also presents research cases as interactive demonstrations instead of static figures. His teaching, publications and research profile are available on his RMIT staff page.
